Bell Slough Wildlife Management Area
This 2,040 acre management area lies southeast of Mayflower. AGFC began the process of acquiring this property after the development of Lake Conway in the late 1950s and the last parcel was added in the early 1990s. It fills an important niche and is a very popular area due to its proximity to metropolitan areas in central Arkansas and the variety of opportunities that it provides. The WMA is composed of a variety of habitat types including upland pine-hardwood forests, bottomland hardwood forests, and cypress-tupelo lakes and sloughs. Area features include a 90 acre moist soil impoundment within the 118 acre Palarm Creek Waterfowl Rest Area, an 800 acre Green Tree Reservoir for waterfowl hunting, and the R. Kenny Vernon Nature Trail. This nature trail is a 2.25 mile self guided trail that takes you through both bottomland and upland ecosystems while providing interpretive information and wildlife viewing opportunities. The area is primarily managed for waterfowl however numerous other hunting and fishing opportunities exist.

Camping is prohibited.
