Big Lake Wildlife Management Area
The New Madrid Earthquake of 1811 formed this 12,000-acre WMA and the adjacent Big Lake National Wildlife Refuge. These bottomland hardwoods can receive severe and prolonged flooding. Duck blinds are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and new blinds require the Commission’s written approval.  The habitat supports waterfowl, deer, squirrels, rabbits and furbearers.  Mallard Lake is closed to hunting.

Camping is permitted.
