California Open Lands
California Open Lands is a mitigation-only land trust. We acquire conservation easements which are required by state and federal agencies for the mitigation of environmental impacts.  We accept easements for the purpose of protecting wetlands, sensitive resources, and endangered species habitat.

As a third-party, conservation-oriented entity, California Open Lands serves a critical function in the regulatory permitting process.  Our land trust also fills an important conservation role by providing responsible stewardship of habitat within the urban matrix.
The mission of California Open Lands is to enhance and preserve Northern California wildlife habitat and waters on open lands in perpetuity.
