Conservation Easements - Property Tax Benefits
Conservation easements are authorized by statute.

MD. CODE ANN. § 2-118.

Easements may be used for fish or wildlife habitat preservation. Maryland gives property tax benefits to landowners who donate perpetual conservation easements to the Maryland Environmental Trust or other land trust.

MD. CODE ANN. § 9-107.

Maryland also provides property tax credits for conservation land subject to perpetual easements.

MD. CODE ANN. § 9-220.

The state also provides property tax credits for open space land subject to perpetual easements.

MD. CODE ANN. § 9-208.
