Crawford County Soil and Water Conservation District

The District works with individuals, citizen groups, and local agencies to prevent resource problems, correct existing soil and water problems, and help plan county’s natural resources within resource capabilities. They analyze needs and develop a long range plan aimed at solving soil and water conservation problems.


  • To provide the guidance, coordination, and assistance to landowners and the general public to facilitate an effective program of conserving and developing our human and naturalresources.
  • To encourage maximum efficiency in the use of our existing natural resources, improve the general economy of CrawfordCounty, and elevate the standard of living and create anawareness of our natural resources limitations to the people.
  • To develop an understanding and responsibility of individuals and organizations of their role in carrying out the practices of conservation for today and in the future.
