Dayton Valley Conservation District

The Dayton Valley Conservation District is in its 15th year of operation as a political subdivision of the State of Nevada, being established in 1999. In 1995, we were the Middle Carson River Watershed working Management Group. The District has come along way since its inception and has been working on a variety of projects this past year. We are in the process of completing a monitoring project of all completed river rehabilitation projects. The Conservation District’s Cooperative Weed Management Area (CWMA) has treated thousands of acres of invasive and noxious weeds. Read pages 3 and 4 for more information on these projects.

The staff of the Dayton Valley Conservation District have worked together with multiple funding agencies, permitting agencies, landowners, organizations, and contractors to achieve our District’s goals of completing riverbank stabilization projects, invasive weed treatment applications, repairs to existing projects, education outreach, and to find additional sources and funding for these activities.
