Green Valley Farm
I have always wanted to farm, since a child.  Growing up in once rural Connecticut, I have worked on dairy, vegetable, fruit and poultry farms, had a pork CSA before CSA's were developed.  I graduated from SUNY Cobleskill with a degree in Agribusiness and went to work in the greenhouse industry for 25 years.

I owned and operated Sonshine Growers of Maine, LLC, for twelve years selling wholesale to independent garden centers and supermarkets before downsizing in 2009 to a manageable 10.5 acre farm.

In 2008, I opened The Garden of Eatin, in Richmond, so as to bring the bounty of our many fams around Merrymeeting Bay to one local source in town.  Unfortunatley the economy took a turn for the worse and in September 2009 I had to sell it.

I love seeing people happy with my products.  The experience from The Garden of Eatin made me look for ways to still contiue to bring good wholesome food and flora to the area.  There seems to be more demand for CSA's than there are CSA's so I felt compelled to bring my knowledge, my desires and to save my farm by starting a CSA and Farm Market this spring.

The redevelopment of my 10.5 acre farm will provde ample produce using a variety of organic growing systems including high density towers and trellis' for strawberries, cucumbers and tomatoes.  We will produce several greenhouse crops to include flowering annual and vegetable plants, season extension of tomatoes anc greens.  An area of our farm will be dedicated to kitchen gardens using flowers and vegetables to create aesthetically pleasing and highly productive gardens.

Green Valley Farm will be a fun farm to be involved in.  I am excited to bring it into production this year!
