Military Program, Fort Bliss

Fort Bliss is one of the fastest growing Army installations due to the base closure and realignments that are currently underway with the military. Through the InterService Support Agreement with Extension and Ft. Bliss Army Community Service the following educational programming will be provided for military families this year.Programming areas covered are: Family Advocacy Program (FAP), Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP), Employment Readiness Program (ERP), Mobilization and Deployment(MOB/DEP), Financial Readiness(FRP), Relocation Readiness(RAP, Information, Referral & Outreach(IR&O), and Volunteer Programs(VP). FAP provides classes and activities in Army regulated awareness classes on the recognition of child, spouse, and intimate partner abuse, parenting, couples communication skills, stress management, passenger safety, educational playgroups and hospital visits to new parents. Programming in the area of ERP consists of resume development, interviewing techniques, job search skills and other sills to help family members acquire employment. The EFMP provides advocacy and educational programs for families with special needs. Mob/Dep provides educational programs to FRG's and pre and post deployment and rear detachment training. Financial education is provided on basic budget, to saving and investing. Relocation and IR&O provide information and assistance to families on resources in both the Ft. Bliss and El Paso community. Volunteer program trains volunteers in volunteer management and serves as the leader for recognition on the installation.
