We are part of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service’s statewide network and the University of Arkansas System’s Division of Agriculture. Our mission is to provide research-based information through non-formal education to help all Arkansans improve their economic well-being and the quality of their lives.  Whether it is agriculture, 4-H, health and living, or community development, the Nevada County Extension Office is at your service!

Nevada County Master Gardeners

The Master Gardener program allows community members interested in volunteerism and gardening opportunities to learn and serve their communities. Nevada County Master Gardeners contribute hundreds of service hours to projects in the county including the Nevada County Courthouse, Nevada County Library, Depot Museum and Extension Office. Nevada County Agriculture

There are 395 farms in Nevada County, with livestock being the major source of farm income.  Livestock production in Nevada County is valued at $47 million. Timber is another agriculture commodity in Nevada County which has 323,000 acres, 94% of which is owned by private individuals. Nevada County 4-H

The mission of 4-H is to provide opportunities for youth to acquire knowledge, develop life skills, form attitudes, and practice behavior that will enable them to become self directing, productive, and contributing members of society.
