The Conservancy seeks to enhance the quality of life in Norman so that all may enjoy the many benefits of both its urban and rural spaces.

The Conservancy focuses on the wise use of the land and its natural resources so that Norman's remarkable heritage may be preserved for both present and future generations.

The Norman Area Land Conservancy is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation organized to assist in implementing long-term environmental objectives.

  • Identify, monitor, and provide the means to protect the various elements of the natural environment

  • Assist private citizens, organizations, public institutions, and government agencies in land conservation

  • Encourage donations of conservation easements or gifts and negotiated purchaes of interests in property to conserve the natural environment, including wildlife habitat, prime farm lands, flood plains, riarian corridors, recreation areas, and greenways

  • Educate Conservancy members and local citizens about land conservation and stewardship

  • Raise funds to support the activities of the Conservancy

  • Establish a volunteer and professional staff to conduct the work of the Conservancy
