Peter (Pete) D. Hancock

Since joining Gelbert, Fullbright & Randolph Forestry Consultants in 2006 Pete has provided landowners with forest management and timber sale services.  Concurrently Pete has supervised the land management activities for 10,000 acres owned by an investment organization in northeast North Carolina.  Pete also provides contract administration, strategic harvest planning, logging supervision, timber marketing services, and analytical support to an investment organization that manages a wood supply agreement from a 250,000 acre property.

Pete Hancock began his professional career managing the full scope of forestry operations for 45,000 acres of International Paper timberland in South Central Virginia.  During that assignment Pete developed an extensive skill set in GIS applications and data management.  Through multiple organizational realignments Pete had responsibility for managing and monitoring company timber sales and logging operations for one quarter of the region and later planned and supervised all of the silvicultural activities on a 65,000 acre land base.  Pete also gained substantial experience with Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certification and certification audit procedures while serving as the Virginia Basin Environmental Management System representative.
