Raccoon Creek Watershed Assn.
The Raccoon Creek Watershed Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to:
  • Protecting and conserving the natural resources of the watershed;
  • Restoring water quality, scenic beauty and wildlife habitat through abandoned mine reclamation;
  • Promoting local interest in, and support for, watershed restoration and outdoor education activities.
  • We seek public support and financial and technical assistance from federal, state and local sources to assure the watershed's protection and sustainable development.
The Independence Conservancy is a watershed-based land trust founded in 1999 in Aliquippa, PA. We are an all-volunteer group of environmental enthusiasts who share a vision of clean water, beautiful vistas and special places in theRaccoon Creek Watershed preserved forever.
We are a 501(c)3 Pennsylvania nonprofit watershed organization that has gone the extra mile toward long-term protection of our local natural resources by adopting land trust Standards and Practices. Land trusts are private, nonprofit organizations that work cooperatively with landowners to protect and conserve land for its natural, recreational, scenic, historic, or productive value – values that sustain life on earth.
Independence Conservancy is a well-respected partner in environmental restoration initiatives in the Raccoon Creek and nearby watersheds. We are involved in volunteer cleanups, outdoor education, abandoned mine reclamation and assistance to other groups.

You are invited to attend our meetings which are held on the last Tuesday of each month at 5:00 PM at the Raccoon Creek State Park office at 3000 State Route 18, Hookstown PA 15050. Meetings are informal and usually last less than one hour.
