Western Recycling was originally incorporated in 1976.

The current owners have owned and operated the business since 1979.

Originally Western had one location with approximately 6500 square feet of warehouse/production space.

Western now operates in six locations in Idaho.  Boise, Nampa, Fruitland, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls, Pocatello.

The company is employee owned. Western processes over 100,000 tons of cardboard, paper, plastics, aluminum cans, ferrous scrap metal, and nonferrous scrap metal each year.

Business offices typically generate large quantities of office papers. Western Recycling has programs that can help businesses recycle this material instead of throwing it away. Western also provides confidential records destruction through its affiliate Western Records Destruction Inc. As an added benefit, all of the fully shredded and neutralized material is recycled.

Western Recycling aims to educate households on what can be recycled via the curbside program or drop-off service. Additionally, it is important for all individuals to understand what they can do to protect their identity by properly destroying all confidential information.
