Shockaloe National Recreation Trailupdated: May 2010
This 23-mile trail winds through much of the northern half of the Bienville National Forest. The location is one of the best in the state to observe the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker. Binoculars are a must to get the best view of this small bird. Base Camp 1 is open April through October with picnicking, drinking water, and sanitary facilities.
