Steve Nagy

Steven M. Nagy focuses his practice on real estate, natural resources, and environmental concerns for both companies and individuals.  He represents independent oil and gas exploration and production clients operating throughout Colorado, in addition to clients with a variety of other resource interests.

Mr. Nagy’s practice serves the diverse needs of resource developers, including permitting and regulatory compliance, spacing and pooling matters, mineral title and curative work, transactions, surface use and access agreements, conservation issues, and environmental matters.

Mr. Nagy’s experience includes service as Assistant Colorado Attorney General, where he represented the Department of Natural Resources in mine permitting and reclamation and the State Land Board in real estate and litigation matters.  His public and private sector experience includes litigation, representation in state and federal rulemaking, and environmental enforcement matters.  Mr. Nagy also advised the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund on transactional matters associated with acquisition of land, water, and conservation easements.

Mr. Nagy speaks frequently to both local and national audiences on topics that range from regulatory developments, reclamation and ethics.  He regularly interacts with conservation groups.  He recently served as a Contributing Editor for the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation’s Second Edition of the American Law of Mining.  Mr. Nagy is licensed in both Colorado and Utah.
