Texas Southern Pine Beetle Prevention Program

Texas A&M Forest Service offers federal cost share incentives to encourage private forest landowners to take preventive measures against future infestations of the southern pine beetle (SPB).

The cost shares are limited to a flat $50/acre for first thinning of overcrowded, pulpwood-sized stands within 21 counties of East Texas that are known to be susceptible to southern pine beetle outbreaks.
