Texas Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program

**Discontinued, Apply Now Under EQIP**

The Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP) provided financial incentives to develop habitat for fish and wildlife on private lands. Participants agree to implement a NRCS approved wildlife habitat plan and NRCS provided financial assistance for the implementation of wildlife beneficial conservation practices. Financial assistance is available to help the participant with the cost of conservation practice establishment.

WHIP funding was not authorized in the 2014 Farm Bill, but interested applicants can now apply for wildlife habitat assistance under the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).

Visit the national NRCS website for more information.
