Timothy Laycock
Tim is an associate of the firm's Real Estate Division and concentrates his practice on representing real property owners, lenders, landlords, tenants and developers. He has represented municipalities in the development and redevelopment of recent major projects in the Kansas City area, including the Liberty Triangle. Tim represents landlords and tenants in commercial leasing matters involving office, retail and warehouses. He represents sellers and purchasers in the conveyance of commercial property, as well as lenders and borrowers on loans secured by real estate. Tim has experience in drafting and negotiating leases, contracts, easements, mortgages, deeds of trust, options, license agreements and other transactional real estate documents.

Tim represents the firm and its clients in development and land use matters, commercial landlord-tenant issues and has worked with both borrowers and lenders on secured lending transactions.  He has represented lenders on a wide variety of transactions including loan assumptions, modifications and re-financing.

He also works with businesses, tenants, property owners, municipalities and developers, to negotiate, perform due diligence on, and close acquisitions, sales and leases of commercial real property throughout the Midwest

Tim has significant experience drafting reciprocal easement agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, rights of first refusal, option agreements and other contracts 

He addresses utility relocation issues, lot-split issues, as well as rezoning and other land use issues, and has also worked on 1031 exchanges
