Upper Deschutes River Coalition Community Wildfire Protection Planupdated: July 2014

The Upper Deschutes River Coalition Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) was revised and approved in February 2007. As directed by that CWPP, substantial fuels reduction, fire prevention and fire preparedness activities have been completed on public and private lands. The CWPP Steering Committee reconvened in November 2012 to reassess the condition and risk in its WUI communities and update the plan.

Under the 2003 Healthy Forests Restoration Act, the CWPP is approved by the applicable local government, the local fire department and the state entity responsible for forest management. This plan is intended to serve as a planning tool for fire and land managers and residents to assess risks associated with wildland fire and identify strategies and make recommendations for reducing those risks.
