Wes-Tex RC&D Council

The Mission Statement of the Texas Association of RC&D Areas is to serve all members efficiently, regardless of the nature of their respective endeavors, in according with established policies as follows:

  • Interact with other entities and with the public on appropriate issues and situations which offer opportunities to benefit members' interest and rural development
  • Promote the interest of, and respect for RC&D in all practical ways
  • Encourage the best and the brightest individuals--without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability or personal and family circumstance--to participate in the Texas Association of RC&D
  • Encourage professional conduct and consciousness of public responsibility by this organization
  • Provide research, education and leadership to Area Council members, and assistance in the marketing of their services.

The purpose of RC&D is to promote conservation, development, and utilization of natural resources; to improve the general level of economic activity; and to enhance the environmental and standard of living in all communities. The aim is to provide a system of rural development, encourage the wise use of natural resources, and improve the quality of life in America.
