Granville Tate Jr.

Granville's practice has particular emphasis on the financial services industry, including regulatory and merger transactions for banks and bank holding companies in both intrastate and interstate transactions. He has been involved in numerous regulatory and acquisition transactions for Trustmark Corporation, the parent corporation of Trustmark National Bank, the largest bank headquartered in Mississippi, and for many other banking organizations. Granville practices before all federal agencies that regulate financial service providers and has also worked with many state agencies to formulate regulatory guidelines associated with the expanded financial institution powers as a result of the adoption of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Financial Modernization Act.

Granville is experienced in commercial leasing activities, working extensively with a private retail organization headquartered in Mississippi with more than 500 locations throughout the southeast. His real estate practice also includes the representation of landowners who own and manage large blocks of land along the Mississippi River for recreational, conservation, and timber management purposes. He has worked on numerous conservation easement transactions and has extensive experience working with state and federal regulatory agencies, particularly the Army Corps of Engineers and local levee districts.

Mr. Tate is actively involved in professional and civic activities, serving on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Habitat for Humanity/Metro Jackson, Inc. He is a graduate of the 1996-1997 class of Leadership Jackson, and he also represents the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi.
