Fairbanks Soil and Water Conservation District

Fairbanks SWCD is committed to assisting private land owners with resource conservation projects; helping to educate both students and adults about conservation stewardship; and assisting local farmers to improve both production and marketing capacity.
Fairbanks SWCD serves over 250 cooperators (private landowner members) and the general public in an area that covers over 3,000,000 acres. The mission of the FSWCD is to serve its cooperators, private landowners and all citizens of the district by promoting wise development and conservation of natural resources. The FSWCD offers technical, educational and financial resources and works with a variety of partners to meet their goals. FSWCD cirtical natural resource areas include:
- A viable agricultural community
- Conservation of soil resources
- Maintenance of water quality
- Management of forest habitats and wood product sustainability of private lands
- Prevention and eradication of noxious and invasive species
- Relevant education and information for all clientele
