The Androscoggin Land Trust is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) membership organization dedicated to protecting, through land conservation and stewardship, the traditional landscapes, important natural areas and outdoor experience throughout Androscoggin County. We also work outside of Androscoggin County in the towns of Buckfield, Canton, Jay, Hebron and Bowdoin.
We protect land by using a variety of conservation techniques that permanently conserves the ecological, scenic or recreational values of the land.
The ALT strives to accomplish our mission by:
- Working with willing landowners
- Protecting and monitoring privately-owned land under conservation easement
- Owning & managing donated or purchased lands
- Providing local educational and recreational opportunities to encourage appreciation of our natural heritage
- Serving as a resource for alternatives to sprawl and unmitigated development
Androscoggin Land Trust was founded in 1991
The focus of Androscoggin Land Trust is Androscoggin County, Maine and north along the Androscoggin River to Jay and Canton.
